Add a touch of tradition to your home with our Dokra handmade pure solid brass showpiece! This exquisite showpiece was created by expert artisans from West Bengal utilizing the ancient Dokra technique. Each piece is unique and carefully crafted, making it an ideal addition to your home decor collection. This showpiece includes a unique, handcrafted brass sculpture of an elongated, thin figure. The figure wears traditional clothing with subtle details and is standing upright on a miniature rectangular base. The stance of the figure provides a sense of sophistication and purpose, and the figure is holding something or an instrument in one hand. Despite the fact that it maintains a gesture toward traditional work, the abstract details and elongated legs of the statue provide a sense of modern, progressive surroundings. The work is a Dokra handicraft characterized by its unique and intricate nature.
Color: Metallic golden
Material: Brass
Art: Dokra
Dokra art is a way of making metal that dates back more than 4,000 years to the Indus Valley Civilization and has been used for that length of time. It has complicated patterns and a rough, tribal look. The Dokra Damar people of West Bengal, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and Jharkhand practice this old art that is closely linked to the natural surroundings and way of life in those states. The artists often go into the nearby woods to find natural materials like clay, beeswax, and charcoal that are used in the casting process. The lost wax method is used to make a framework out of clay, which is then used to cut out patterns with wax. Following that, they add more clay on top to create a mold. After the mold is warmed with wood to burn off the wax, molten brass is put into the empty space. The clay has been broken open to show the finished piece once it has cooled. It’s a beautiful display of their culture, their environment, and their skill as an artist.
